The Boathouse offers 5-star luxury accommodation entirely over the water in the Opua Boat Harbour -- the marine centre of the Bay of Islands. It features two large apartments, each with a large balcony, offering extensive views of the harbour, towards Paihia and outer Bay of Islands. Each apartment has two bedrooms suitable for four persons. Fishing Rods are supplied for the lower apartment: "The Landing", but a hand-line is also available in "The Bridge"... our guests enjoy the experience of catching fish from their balcony, or feeding the ducks. We are not just a place to stay: we are a destination in itself. The apartments are of equal size (141m2 interior and large balconies)... each with superb views ... Luxuriously furnished, spacious lounge and dining room, and a a large modern kitchen the apartments offer total comfort and elegance. The Boathouse is not putting on offer "back" apartments ... we only offer the best... The style of The Boathouse is nautical, giving an illusion of being on a cruise ship while firmly and securely anchored. the Opua General Store and Bakery, and only 200 metres from the modern Opua Marina and Cruising Club and adjacent to the Opua Beach, suitable for swimming. Meander along the beach and across a boardwalk onto the coastal walkway to Paihia... along small bays... take a detour into the native forest of the Harrison Reserve. Explore the marina and make a stop at the cafe by the boatramp. Only 5 kilometres from Paihia and Waitangi, with its 18-hole golf course, Opua is a lovely small township boasting a long history dating back to the latter part of the 19th Century. VERY IMPORTANT - The Boathouse Opua does not have an onsite check / office as the Managers are off site. All modern conveniences, beautiful sea views, lovely setting -- cannot be matched Rates are for 4 people. By Car: Opua is three hours north of Auckland via State Highways 1 and 11. After Whangarei, follow the signs for the Bay of Islands and the Opua car ferry. The Boathouse is located next to the ferry ramp. VERY IMPORTANT - The Boathouse Opua does not have an onsite check / office as the Managers are off site.
