The latest addition to Base Christchurch is The Penthouse. The Penthouse is an area with its own facilities: 2 TVs (1 TV Sky TV and 1 TV with PS2 - games available for hire from reception), private bathroom, outdoor balcony with its own BBQ. Rates are for 1 person. Extra adults $30.00. Extra children $30.00. The room caters for a maximum of 8 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 8 guests in total. | Getting There |
City flyer bus: This departs from outside the International Arrivals Terminal. Operation times are 6:35 to 23:35 Monday to Friday, and 8:05 - 23:05 Saturday and Sunday. It arrives in Cathedral Square approx 150m from the hostel. The cost is NZD $7 per person Shuttle bus: They are parked at the front of the arrivals terminal. The cost is NZD $18 per person and will drop you at the door Taxi: Also parked at the front of the arrivals terminal. The cost ranges between NZD $45 and $55 Bus Station; If you have come off the Intercity head towards the Cathedral following the tram lines down past Warners, we are right around the next corner. If you get off at the city bus depot head down Colombo St towards the Square (1 block away). Continue past the front door of the Cathedral and hang a right when you hit the Tram lines and you will see the grand old building nestled away between the Camelot Hotel and the Warners Hotel Train Station: We are quite close to the Train station but it would pay to use a Taxi (approx $15) or grab a shuttle, again approx $10 |
