If you are coming to Franz Josef to see the Glacier staying at Glacier Cottages is the perfect choice. Glacier Cottages is located on State Highway 6, 2.5km North of the Franz Josef Village. We have three new 2005 luxury two bedroom cottages. We are the only accommodation in Franz Josef with unspoilt views of the Glacier from every room! Satelite digital LCD TV. Trampoline and large lawn area for children to play. Picnic table and bbq provided. All units are serviced each day. Our Cottages have their own Balcony with outdoor furniture. Take a walk down to the river or have a BBQ on the lawn. Relax on your own deck and enjoy the views. Our cottage interiors are classic country design Jill Main designer bed throws and cushions. When you awake in the morning you may deceide that perhaps this is the day for a Quad bike / Argo adventure, Glacier walk, Heli Hike or a scenic flight we are happy to book your activities free of charge. We are situated on a 40 acre lifestyle farm bred & show miniature horses, Franz Josef offers some lovely cafes and resturants all only two minute drive away. 20 minute walk to the Village. All Cottages are non-smoking. A continental breakfast is avaliable if required for a small charge. All Cottages have a kitchen and separate bathroom. Children are most welcome at Glacier Cottages. Note double beds can be made into two singles if required. Come and see why our quests keep coming back, perfect for Honeymoon couples. A bottle of wine can be left in your room for your arrival by prior arrangement. Your Hosts are Tim and Vanessa Gibb we are 4th generation Locals and are happy to help with any information you may require. New to Franz is the Franz Josef Hot Pool complex we provide towel hire and highly recomend this activity. Great after a quad bike ride! |

Price is for up to 5 people. This is our largest Cottage. Sleeps 6 with 1 person on a rollaway bed. Brand new with two seperate bedrooms and clear Glacier and river views from every room! Dining table, viewing Balcony. Bring your camera. Treat yourself! Rates are for 5 people. Extra adults $20.00. Extra children $15.00. The room caters for a maximum of 6 adults, and a maximum of 4 children but cannot exceed 6 guests in total. Available bedding configurations:

| Getting There |
We are located on State Highway 6. 2.5km North of the Franz Josef Village there is a large sign at the Gate. Please follow the driveway directly to the Cottages. Our Office is located next to the main house. Driving time from Christchurch 4 & 1/2 hours. There is a bus service in The Alpine Adventure Centre that can deliver you to Glacier Cottages. |

We have plenty of parking space beside each Cottage/Apartment. We are set on 40 acres. Car wash beside each units carpark. |
| Things To Do |
There is a variety of activities to choose from which include; scenic helicopter flights, Glacier walks, heli-hikes, ski plane flights, White Heron Tours, Horse Trekking,New Hot pool complex, bush walks and Kayaking. A new exciting activity we highly recomend is Across Country Quad Bikes Franz Josef. We can arrange trips for you on these new 2 seater quad bikes great value for money and a real adventure with exellent Glacier views weather permitting. We can book these tours and others at reception. Lake Maporika is a short drive to the North of us on State Highway 6 and is a great place to go for a swim on a nice summers day. |
