The Heemskirk has 34 rooms including executive double rooms to self contained, spacious two-bedroom apartments. Ample parking is available at no charge. After a day of travelling or sightseeing you will welcome our Sri Lankan chefs excellent cooking as you relax with a glass of fine Tasmanian wine or beer. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. | Getting There |
The Heemskirk Motor Inn is located at 1-25 Main Street, Zeehan. We are centrally located: 30 minutes north of Strahan and Queenstown, 25 minutes south of Rosebery, 35 minutes south east of Corinna, 65 mins to Cradle Mountain. If you are driving north or south along the A10, Murchison Highway, tur onto B27, the Zeehan Hwy which turns into Main Street. You will find us on the left hand side before the centre of the town. Arriving from the other side of town, both the C249, Heemskirk Road and the C248, Trial Harbour Road, both turn into Main Street. You will find the Heemskirk on the right hand side just past the centre of the town. |

Dame Nellie Melba once sang here, in the days when dozens of hotels lined the bustling Main Street, and fortunes were dug from the rugged mountains. Today, fine old buildings reflect the town`s history, and the Pioneers Museum tells the story of the past. Zeehan is your base to explore the wilderness - Close to Queenstown, Lake Pieman, Trial Harbour, and just half an hour from Strahan & the majestic Gordon River. |
