| Things To Do |
Southport is a traditional Victorian seaside town with a contemporary twist and the Bold Hotel is ideally located to make the most of everything it has to offer. Just outside the front door is one of the most prestigious shopping districts in Britain, from the tree-lined boulevards of Lord Street to the bustling activity of Chapel Street. Visitors are also spoilt for choice when it comes to recreational pursuits. A few minutes' walk from the Hotel is the Southport beach, home to the country's oldest and second longest pier. Southport famously boasts an unparalleled choice of seaside attractions including a large indoor water park, the New Pleasure land funfair, the Model Railway Village and a selection of stunning parks including the Botanic Gardens. For those seeking the thrill of adventure, the popular Marine Lake is just 3 minutes away and caters to a range of water sports such as sailing, water-skiing and rowing. It is also home to The Southport Belle, a Mississippi style paddle steamer that provides scenic tours of the Victorian seafront. Cultural pursuits are well catered for with Southport's Theatre and Convention Centre, Arts Centre and Little Theatre providing everything from musicals and plays to pop concerts. It is also a great base for exploring the north west of England, whether it's a day out in the nearby cosmopolitan city of Liverpool or discovering the beauty of the Wirral or Lancashire countryside. With over 20 miles of unspoilt coastline an abundance of nature reserves and gardens, it's the ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries. Southport also features the UK's highest concentration of championship links courses and is widely regarded as 'England's Golfing Capital'. |
