Originally built in 1865, Ponsonby Manor Guest House (aka The Red Monkey Manor) is a Victorian era manor house that has been recently renovated to her former grandeur with period decorative fireplaces and historic fittings but with modern comforts to help make your stay comfortable and memorable. Located on Ponsonby Road we are both easy to find and conveniently located to both all the amenities and attractions historic Ponsonby has to offer. We are just a pleasant walk or short bus trip from Auckland CBD.

We have 14 rooms all with LCD TV and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Most rooms include modern tiled ensuite bathrooms as well as a bench countertop with bar fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. We have a variety of different rooms ranging from our cosy and warm single garden room to our upstairs queen ensuite room with its own private balcony and expansive views of the skyscrapers of downtown Auckland and Waitemata Harbour. We have family rooms with queen beds and large comfortable adult sized bunks that can sleep up to 4 guests. We have several disability accessible King/Twin rooms and a disability accessible bathroom.

You’ll find coin operated self service laundry, complimentary computer access and printing and a modern fully equipped communal kitchen with gas hobs at Ponsonby Manor Guest House. Located right on Ponsonby Road we are adjacent to dozens of cafes, award winning restaurants, trendy and sociable bars, top New Zealand designer fashion stores and art galleries. Socialise with other guests in the dining area or guest TV lounge complete with DVD player and Sky TV channels or enjoy a glass of wine and relax or meet new friends at the outdoor setting on the spacious back lawn and BBQ area or on the upstairs guest balcony overlooking Ponsonby Road. We have a range of rooms to meet varying budgets. We require a minimum stay of one week - we welcome medium and long term stays. We are your home away from home.

Frequent public transport with "Inner Link" bus service every 10-15 minutes during weekdays from 6.00am – 11.00pm travelling into Auckland CBD area (travel time of 10-15 minutes). After midnight - bus stops along Ponsonby Rd become taxi stands.

Getting There	Ponsonby Manor Guest House (aka The Red Monkey Manor) is easy to find. We are located at 229 Ponsonby Road, next door to the Samoan Methodist Church (look for the tall church spire) and across the road from Nosh Metro (our local European delicatessen). We are located 2km (1¼ miles) from Auckland CBD, 1¼ km (0.8 miles) along Ponsonby Road from the corner of Karangahape Rd (K' Rd) and Ponsonby Road and 400m (¼mile) from the corner of College Hill and Ponsonby Road. Bus services with the dark green coloured "Inner Link" bus (with connections via the CBD on the Airbus Express to Auckland international Airport) provide frequent (every 10 to 15 minutes) services from Auckland CBD to us from 6.30am to 11.00pm every day with the bus stop being located within 20m of our front door. More information on ways to reach us by public transport can be found on the Auckland public transport website www.maxx.co.nz. The Super shuttle service provides a door-to-door service from Auckland International Airport to us (www.supershuttle.co.nz). We are located 20½ km (13 miles) from Auckland International Airport.
Parking	Free on-street parking available along Ponsonby Road (time restricted to 2 hours parking between 8.00am - 6.00pm on weekdays, unrestricted outside these hours and on weekends). Free unrestricted carparking available along Tole St which is located 20 metres away diagonally across the road from Ponsonby Manor Guest House.
