Abisko Lodge, Apartments and Campsite offer Methven accommodation options close to the foothills of Mount Hutt, South Island, New Zealand. Mount Hutt Ski Area is one of New Zealand's most popular ski areas with its close proximity to Christchurch, over 680m (2240ft) of vertical and annual average snowfall of 4m (13ft).

Just one hours comfortable drive from Christchurch International Airport , Abisko accommodation offers travellers a wide range of facilities to suit most budgets.

Located a mere 3 minute stroll from the Methven village centre with all its charm and specialist boutique shops, makes Abisko Lodge the smart choice in “hassle free” accommodation for your stay in Methven. Choose from 13 comfortable en suite rooms in the lodge or one of our well appointed, self contained 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments.

Campers can select from 17 powered campsites suitable for tents or motorhomes. Cosy cedar cabins will be available for the 2008 ski season.

Abisko can accommodate small conferences up to a maximum of 30 people. School groups can also be catered for.

Abisko is the ideal base for winter skiing and snowboarding at the nearby Mt Hutt skifield while plenty of summer activities will keep you busy.

At the end of your day, join us and relax in the lounge area with a glass or New Zealand wine or a steaming hot coffee or just relax and unwind in the spa pool or sauna.

We are a great base for outdoor receation with 2 good golf courses within easy reach, Mt.Somers Sub Alpine Walkway, Rakaia Gorge, Awa Awa Rata Reserve and Methven Walkways. Try trout or salmon fishing, jet boating, hot air ballooning or visit the Lord of the Rings site Edoras.

There are 12 rooms in the Lodge which are all en-suite with TV, tea/coffee facilities. All rooms are heated and all beds have electric blankets.

We have 1 studio room which has a double bed and is en-suiteed with a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster. Studio room also has a TV & DVD player.

The apartments are 3 bedroomed 2 bathrooms with full kitchen facilities, lounge/dining area. These apartments sleep 1 - 8 people. Also they have TV & DVD player nd full use of of recreation facilities at the Lodge inlcuding the spa, sauna and bar.

Facilities include spa & sauna, lounge/bar with Log burner, pool table & games.

Getting There	We are approximately 1 hours drive from Christchurch International Airport along Highway 1 to Rakaia. Signposted from Rakaia to Methven By Bus Methven Travel run a bus from Christchurch International Airport to Methven various times during the day.
Parking	Car Parking is off street. There are no extra charges for parking facilities.
Things To Do	Skiing and snowboarding in winter. Terrace Downs and Methven golf courses are within easy reach. Great base for outdoor recreation with the choice of Mt. Somers Sub Alpine Walkways. Try trout or salmon fishing, jet boating, hot air ballooning or visit Lord of the Rings site Edoras.
