The largest inland city in New South Wales ideally situated between Sydney and Melbourne and is nestled on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Wagga has a population of 57,000 people. Wagga Wagga was first discovered in 1829 and is a city rich in arts, sport and culture. The name ‘Wagga Wagga’ is derived from the Aboriginal Wiradjuri tribe and means the “Place of Many Crowes”. With the Charles Sturt University and the Riverina Institute of TAFE, Wagga is an important regional education centre and, with the Kapooka Army Recruit Training Base and a Royal Australian Air Force Base, it is also regarded as one of the country’s major defence force establishments. Wagga RSL Club Motel is one of Wagga’s newest accommodation facilities, and this 4 ½ Star property is conveniently located adjacent to the Wagga RSL Club. All rooms are fully equipped, with many having views overlooking the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. Major features include outdoor swimming pool, barbecue area, large spacious rooms, modern décor, contemporary design, DVD players and room service with easy access to all club facilities. Temporary membership to the Wagga RSL Club will entitle you to benefits such as discounts on food and beverages and entry into major promotions. Full function packages can be organised through the RSL Club and this can include catering, conference facilities and accommodation. We have a wide arrange of rooms to suite everyone’s needs from Executive Suites for the business traveller, to Spa suites for the romantic weekend away and larger accommodation for families. We can also cater for large group bookings. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are available 7 days a week in the RSL Club Bistro and Jade Palace Chinese Restaurant (Lunch and Dinner Tuesday to Sunday), room service is also available for all meals. There are numerous bars and gaming facilities and kids club to entertain the whole family. |

RSL Club Motel is approx 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the train station. There is a taxi rank available at both for easy convenience. We are easy to find off both highways from either Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, Please feel free to call Motel for instructions on how to reach us or we can arrange to fax or send you a map with directions. |
| Parking |
Off street car parking is available for all our guest free of charge. There is also a limited amount of undercover parking and disable parking available. There is a set down area in front of the foyer, which is undercover that guests may use whilst check-in, and out. |
| Things To Do |
There are many things to do without leaving the comfort of the Wagga RSL Club grounds, with numerous bars, lounge areas, restaurants, coffee shop, kidz Club. You can try your luck with Keno, TAB, and Gaming facilities or have a friendly game of pool with your friends and family. There is also our lawn bowling facilities and a small drive up the road will get you to our RSL Club Golf Course and to end your evening there is always entertainment to be enjoyed every Friday and Saturday night in the Casino lounge. Wagga is also a hub of cultural actives, with the Wagga Regional Art Gallery, National Art Glass Collection and there is always something on at our Civic Theatre or Riverina Playhouse. There are many other things to see such as the Botanic gardens, our Historic Buildings, Military Museum, and many other local things just a short drive away like Temora Aviation Museum, Chocolate and licorice factory at Junee and Monte Cristo Historic Homestead and Roundhouse Rail Museum all at Junee which is only 20 minutes away. Locally there are plenty of activities for all ages with Croquet, Scenic drives, Boating, Horse Racing, Cycling, Art gallery, Museums, Bowls, Fishing, Golf, Swimming, Tennis and of course lots of great shopping. There is also the Wiradjuri Walking Track to concur, lots of vineyards and wineries to test and Cheese factories to sample. |
