Risby Cove is Strahan's only waterfront accommodation, set in a sheltered cove on the site of an old sawmill. These luxury appointed units have been carefully designed to mirror the history of the site. Rustic yet contemporary the ironclad buidings reflect the pioneering spirit of the area, the well appointed interiors offer every comfort for the discerning guest. Every guest room overlooks the private marina. Adjacent to the resort lie wrecks from a by-gone era providing a reminder of the hard fought history of this wild coast. The spa rooms are perfect for couples wanting a romantic waterfront escape and two bedroom family rooms have plenty of space (with large lounge rooms in particular) and balconies to watch the comings and goings on the water. The refurbished century old workshop has been converted into a fine gallery featuring an eclectic collection of work by Tasmanian artists. Huon pine and other rare species feature in interesting furniture and sculpture. Unique jewellery and pottery make this gallery a must see for visitors. In addition the resort provides for outdoor activities with mountain bikes, rowing dinghies,and jet boat rides on-site. A fully accredited massage therapist is also available on site. Within 5 minutes walk of the town centre and major attractions of cruise boats and trains. The 4.5 star resort offers seven suites and one studio unit with West facing Harbour views to take in the stunning sunsets. |
