Metung Holiday Villas, is the latest offering of quality, affordbale accommodation in Metung. This new four star resort opened in May 2005 and has a range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets. Each Villa is fully self-contained, all have reverse-cycle air conditioning, private balconies with outdoor settings, and in most cases, individual barbecues. Everthing has been thought of to make your stay 'hassle free', including the provision of all linen, towels, etc. Villas have a comprehensive list of cookware items for those who want to 'stay in'. AUSTAR TV provided free of charge. A covered heated pool is available for use all year round. Centrally located in the property is a children's playground, where the 'kidz' can safely play and burn off some energy. All of this is set under the canopy of beautiful trees and native terraced gardens. An easy 5 minute stroll will take you to the centre of the Metung Village with its restaurants, bakery, cafes and waterfront hotel. At Metung Holiday Villas you have the best the Gippsland Lakes has to offer at your fingertips, so you can do absolutely everthing or absolutely nothing. | Things To Do |
Metung is situated on the Gippsland Lakes, which is Australia's largest inland waterway, a haven for boating and fishing. Access to the 90 mile beach is 20 minutes away. For those wanting a round of golf, Kings Cove Golf Course is only a five minute drive from Metung. See farms, orchards and wineries, where you can meet the growers and sample local produce.You can take a cruise with one of the local operators and take in the natural beauty of the area by water. Bring your bike and hit the East Gippsland Rail Trail, a series of tracks following the old railway line between Bairnsdale and Nowa Nowa. From Metung you can visit the township of Buchan and spend a leisurely day exploring the spectacular underground caves with a guided tour. Buchan Caves Reserve is a beautiful spot for a picnic lunch. For the less adventurous, wander down to the village of Metung, browse the art and craft shops, grab a coffee, or enjoy a quiet drink at the Metung Hotel overlooking the beautiful Bancroft Bay. |
