The Poenamo Hotel is a 31 room Hotel which is conveniently located just off the Northern Motorway. From Auckland heading North take exit 419, and you will find us a few hundred metres on your right. We are approximately 10 minutes drive from the City Centre, right next to the Takapuna Golf course and close to Takapuna beach. Within minutes of the hotel you’ll find the North Shore Events Centre, North Harbour Stadium and the Bruce Mason Centre, where all major concerts, sports games and conventions on the North shore take place. Since new ownership in November 2004, the Poenamo has been undergoing a refurbishment program. Our hotel restaurant has re-opened under new management as "The Backyard" restaurant/bar, also on site we have "Gengy's Mongolian BBQ Buffet" and "Hells Pizza". For a relaxing drink you may enjoy our lounge bar aptly named "The lounge" or for the big game you may prefer 'Pat's Garage' our onsite sports bar. The Poenamo is an icon on the North Shore, being the first Hotel around. We have a strong history of supporting sports team, including many previous All Black teams. | Getting There |
From the airport take the Northern Motorway 1, continue this road until you’re over the Harbour Bridge, take the 419 exit ‘Northcote Road’, turn left and the hotel is the first building on your right hand side. If you come from direction Whangarei, take the Southern Motorway 1, take the 419 Northcote Road exit, turn right, drive over the motorway, and you will find the hotel on your right hand side. |

All rooms have an allocated car park in front of the room and is free of charge. Next to the hotel there is a big public car park and another at the back of the complex also free for use. |

We are centrally located to a host of beaches,all within 5 mins drive of the hotel. Fox Outlet factory shopping, and 3 major shopping centres. We are also within minutes of theatres, Leisure centres and sporting facilities. |
