Conveniently situated in the Sandton suburb of Morningside Manor, Fairlawns is an award-winning boutique hotel boasting a total of 40 highly individualized, world-class Suites The conference centre, a large fully equipped gym, Balinese Spa and an excellent a la carte restaurant are available to ensure a full range of services are on offer. Once the private home of the current live-in owners, John and Anna Thacker, the property was originally bought from the Little Brenthurst Trust of Oppenheimer fame, and consisted of 10 acres with horses and stables and rolling green lawns. Portions of the property have been sold off, but it has retained its stately, park-like ambience with huge mature trees and prolific bird-life.

This well-kept secret is the perfect balance between tranquillity and proximity to the thriving business centres of Sandton, Woodmead, Sunninghill and Rivonia, between professionalism and the warm, welcoming ambience created by friendly and caring staff. The suites at the Fairlawns comprise of some of the most opulent and distinctive suites in South Africa. Each is individually designed, both architecturally and decoratively, a Suite for every taste. All have large windows overlooking some aspect of the landscaped garden, individually controlled air-conditioning, in-room bars, wireless and broadband internet connectivity, international adaptors, DVDs and flat screen TVs, to ensure comfort and global communication.
There are 12 Courtyard suites (Classic suites), 6 Villa suites (Superior suites), 20 Grande Chateau suites (Classic suites) and a 240m2 Presidential Residence which comprises 3 ensuite bedrooms, walk-in dressing room, steam and double showers, sitting and dining rooms, study, kitchenette and guest cloakroom, as well as a private entrance for those wanting privacy and anonymity.

The La Scala venue has French doors which open onto the terrace garden; the Executive Boardroom, in the main hotel building, accommodates up to 10 delegates and has a functional fireplace and an adjacent sitting room which opens onto the gardens. The gallery is the newest addition to the conferencing facilities; this meeting room is perfect for business meetings or private dining for up to 14 guests. The Cecil J Rhodes is a 16 seater horseshoe boardroom (layout) with French doors leading onto balconies which overlook the Balinese Gardens adjacent to the boardroom are the larger function venues - the de Beers and Barney Barnato rooms are located across the gardens in the conference centre and are ideal for larger groups for conferences or banquets. Getting There	On leaving the airport, take the R24 to Johannesburg. You stay on the highway until you see signs to Pretoria. Get into the lane saying N3 to Pretoria, which does a loop under the R24. Travel north along the N3 and take the Marlboro off-ramp and turn left. Carry on along this road until you get to a T-Junction. (Marlboro and Katherine Ave - which changes name to Bowling Ave at this point). Turn right and go through 4 sets of Traffic lights. Immediately after the 4th set of traffic lights, you need to turn left into Alma Road. Drive 500m down Alma road where the road will dog-leg and you will see FAIRLAWNS in brass letters on the right hand side. Turn right into the hotel. From Sandton City: Route - Rivonia Road heading north towards Rivonia (approx 4km/10min). Pass City Lodge on your left; turn right into South Road at the Shell Garage. Go down the hill, through the first set of traffic lights, then turn left into Bowling Ave at the next intersection. Go through two traffic lights; immediately after the second turn left into Alma Road. (Note that the Alma Rd sign is on the right hand side of the road, but there is a Fairlawns sign and an Ernest Ullman Park sign on the left). Drive 500m down Alma road where the road will dog-leg and you will see FAIRLAWNS in brass letters on the right hand side. Turn right into the hotel. From Johannesburg: Route - Ben Schoeman Highway (M1) towards Pretoria (approx. 15km/20min). Pass the Wynberg off-ramp. Turn off at the Marlboro off-ramp. Turn left at the traffic lights at the bottom of the off-ramp, down to the next set of traffic lights at the T-junction. (The name changes from Katherine Ave on the left, to Bowling Ave on the right of the T-junction). Turn right into Katherine Ave. Carry on straight through four sets of traffic lights and immediately after the fourth turn left into Alma Road. (Note that the Alma Rd sign is on the right hand side of the road, but there is a Fairlawns sign and an Ernest Ullman Park sign on the left). Drive 500m down Alma road where the road will dog-leg and you will see FAIRLAWNS in brass letters on the right hand side. Turn right into the hotel. From Pretoria: Route - Ben Schoeman Highway (M1) towards Johannesburg (approx. 35km/30min). Pass the Woodmead off-ramp, and take the Marlboro off-ramp. Turn right under the highway. Turn right at the second set of traffic lights into Katherine Ave. Turn right into Katherine Ave. Carry on straight through four sets of traffic lights and immediately after the fourth turn left into Alma Road. (Note that the Alma Rd sign is on the right hand side of the road, but there is a Fairlawns sign and an Ernest Ullman Park sign on the left). Drive 500m down Alma road where the road will dog-leg and you will see FAIRLAWNS in brass letters on the right hand side. Turn right into the hotel.
