Located in North east Victoria’s Legendary High Country with easy access to Mansfield/Mt Buller and Lake Eildon The Black Sparrow is at the centre of an area rich with outdoor excitement and adventure…making it the perfect base for touring the High Country or a Romantic short break getaway from busy city life. Nestled on 50 acres in the picturesque Howqua Valley The Black Sparrow offers 2 styles of accommodation on different levels of the property- both fully self contained and designed for superior comfort and privacy. Luxury Spa Chalets situated on the hillside overlooking the property-each with a slightly different but never the less stunning view of the Howqua Valley and mountains beyond. Purposely designed as romantic retreats for ‘Couple’s Only’, the spacious Chalets provide guests with an opportunity to relax in a superbly appointed atmosphere. Tastefully decorated they have all the creature comforts that one wishes for when away from home- including fully equipped kitchens and private balconies with gas BBQ’s. Whatever you chose – be it a Romantic interlude or a peaceful weekend getaway in the ‘tranquillity of it all’ it can be enjoyed in the colder months curled up on the sofa in the cosy ambience of a flickering fire or in the warmer season relaxing on the balcony…an easy meal, a bottle of sparkling wine & the sweeping views over the path of the Howqua River winding through the valley. Our Family Spa Cottages situated on the lower level of the property are all within easy access of each other – far enough away to allow Couples the privacy they require and close enough to allow Families & Groups holidaying together the opportunity to interact and enjoy each other’s company while still being able to retreat to their own accommodation & relaxation area if they wish to do so. Each Cottage has it’s own sundeck and private BBQ, spacious interiors and well equipped kitchens and is located within easy access of the Outdoor Pool, Tennis Court and Recreation areas making them the perfect location for a holiday any time of year. Situated in the Cottage area is a small boutique style Restaurant/Function centre that is available for hire for Special Occasions, Group Functions & Family Re-unions. Please note that there is No Mobile (or very little) & No TV reception on the property …but we have an extensive DVD library for guests to use free of charge. |

| Getting There |
The Black Sparrow is situated 25 Km from Mansfield on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road. Follow the Jamieson sign through Mansfield, 3 km outside of Mansfield you will turn right still following the Jamieson sign (this is Mansfield-Woods Point rd) Stay on this road for 22km until you see the Black Sparrow signage...the first letting you know that The Black Sparrow is 300 metres on the left and the second sign which is at our gate entry. PLEASE NOTE: that the quickest and easiest way to The Black Sparrow if you are coming from Melbourne is through YEA then MANSFIELD...don't let your GPS take you any other way unless you have lots of time to explore the victorian countryside and possibly 4x4 tracks! |
