Docklands Apartments Grand Mercure Watergate is situated in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious inner city precincts; the Docklands. Melbourne Docklands is home to some great entertainment, dinning and shopping experiences including Etihad Stadium and the new Harbour Town Shopping Centre.


With only 9 contemporary, well appointed apartments, Watergate offers 1 or 2 bedrooms; each fully furnished luxury apartment includes a spacious lounge and dining area with an entertainment unit, including a CD stereo system and TV, and DVD. They also include fully equipped kitchens featuring European appliances including dishwasher, microwave, fridge, oven and stove. Other features include beautifully appointed bathrooms with bath/shower, internal laundry, private balcony and security intercom. When planning your stay, we kindly request that you remain aware of other guests staying on your floor. In the interest of all guests and building residents, Docklands Serviced Apartments maintains a strict zero tolerance, no-noise policy and unauthorised parties, group gatherings and functions are strictly prohibited, your co-operation is greatly appreciated as any breach of this policy will result in the offending guests being required to leave the premises and a minimum $1000 breach of agreement fine will be incurred.

Our apartments are serviced weekly for stays of 7 days and longer, additional servicing is available on request, an additional charge will be incurred.

Getting There Please phone us 20 mins prior to arrival to ensure a member of staff can meet you at the Convenience store that is located at 12 Waterview Walk. Upon arrival a Valid Credit Card (Not an Eftpos / Visa or Mastercard Debit Card) and photo ID is to be presented. Please note the check-in information on your confirmation form. It is advisable to print this out and bring it with you.

By train, Southern Cross (Spencer Street) station is located within Docklands a short walk away, which means that metropolitan, regional and interstate train services are at your door. Take the Bourke Street pedestrian bridge across Bourke Street West, then cross Bourke Street west.

By tram, the City Circle Tram provides free and convenient transport on the corner Harbour Esplanade and Bourke Street west, the number 48 tram from Flinders Street will also stop at your front door.

By foot, pedestrian access from the CBD is a matter of minutes utilising one of three pedestrian bridges – Collins, Bourke or La Trobe Streets. Turn left at Harbour Esplanade to the corner of Bourke Street West.

By ferry, the Yarra River Shuttle Service connects Docklands with the CBD. This 35 minute ferry trip stops at NewQuay from Yarra’s Edge, Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Crown Casino, Southgate and Federation Square. From NewQuay walk south down Harbour Esplanade to the courner of Bourke Street West.

By road, from the City take La Trobe Street extension westward over Spencer Street, turn left into Harbour Esplanade, left into Bourke Street West and right in to Waterview Walk. Or take the Collins Street extension, right into Wurundjeri Way, left into Bourke Street west and left into Waterview Walk. From the north/west, follow Footscray Road east until it becomes Harbour Esplanade then turn left into Bourke Street west and then right in to Waterview walk or come over the Westgate Bridge and take the Montague Street/Footscray Road exit, turning left onto Wurundjeri Way, then left into Bourke Street West and left in to Waterview walk. From the south/east get onto the Westgate Freeway and take the Montague Street/Footscray Road exit then turn right onto Wurundjeri Way, then left into Bourke Street and left into Waterview Walk.From Melbourne Airport, follow the Tullamarine freeway, then take the Footscray Road exit, follow Footscray road in to Harbour Esplanade and turn left in to Bourke Street West and then right into Waterview Walk.
Parking Car parking is charged at $10.00 per night and 1 allocated car space per apartment booked. Additional Car parks are available in the public car park on Docklands Drive ($15.00 per night).

Watergate is within meters Etihad Stadium (formally Telstra Dome), a multi-purpose facility designed to cater for major sporting and entertainment events, as well as social, business and private functions. Etihad Stadium is the only football stadium in the Southern Hemisphere with a fully retractable roof. The stadium now hosts in the vicinity of 50 AFL matches a season; in Summer, A-League club Melbourne Victory becomes a regular participant at the venue. The venue also regularly stages international sporting events such as Rugby League World Cup matches, Rugby Union Tests and in 2008 Etihad Stadium hosted its first soccer World Cup qualifier. The MCG, Rod Laver Arena, Flemington Racetrack, Melbourne Zoo, St Kilda Beach and Luna Park, Bridge Road & Chapel Street Shopping districts, Melbourne Museum, Shrine of Remembrance are all accessible using Melbourne’s famous tram network.

Jump on a train and visit Science works, the Planetarium and the City of Greater Geelong or book a bus trip to see Yarra Valley wineries, Mount Dandenong, Phillip Island Penguin Parade, and Great Ocean Road.
