The Ash Grove Motel has been extensively renovated and refitted over the last 3 years. Wendy and Fred Grindlay, owner/operators, are delighted to welcome you to their quiet location, set in lovely gardens, situated just 3km from the Paihia/Waitangi waterfront. We are environmentally aware and are the first business in Paihia to achieve the Qualmark Enviro Bronze accreditation. We offer quality accommodation, rated Qualmark 4 star, supplemented by the facility of a superb 17 metre swimming pool and a hot spa. We are agents for all the tours and attractions on offer in the Bay of Islands. Come and relax in our beautiful surroundings, where we are happy to help make your stay with us as trouble free as possible. Prior to 2004, when we settled in New Zealand, we spent five years operating a small farmhouse Bed & Breakfast in the UK, where we won several awards for good service. |

| Getting There |
From Paihia town centre - follow the seafront road towards Kerikeri. Turn left at the round-about, pass the Caltex petrol station on the left and Woolworths supermarket on the right. Follow the road approx. 3km until you come to a hill with a passing lane. Stay on the inside lane and as you reach the brow of the hill our entrance is on the left-hand side. Take a U-turn into our driveway and follow it up to the top, where you will find Reception. |

| Things To Do |
Our motel is ideally situated to explore both the Bay of Islands and the regions north of us. There are many water-based trips to undertake, from kayaking to sailing, cruising, fishing and diving, all of which are close at hand. Coach tours to the most northerly point of New Zealand, Cape Reinga, are also available, along with tours of the forest areas and local glow worm caves. |
