Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House is situated on the Great Ocean Road overlooking the Aire River Wildlife Reserve on the fringe of the Great Otway National Park. Since the Great Ocean Walk opened in 2006 we have specialised in providing lunches and dinners for guests. The Restaurant sources ingredients from the Otways and many of our vegetables, herbs and fruit come from the garden and greenhouse. Bookings are highly recommended. Our menu changes daily depending on the season and what is picked in the garden. Vegetables and salads are often picked after you order ensuring the freshest vegetables in any restaurant on the Great Ocean Road. In fact we are the only restaurant that has a Restaurant Garden. The best growing conditions are in Hordern Vale by the lakes along the Great Ocean Road. Bedrooms have ensuite shower or bathrooms with natural soaps from Beech Forrest, crisp, white linen, views and French doors that open onto the wide, sweeping verandah. Take home with you some Natural Soap made in Beech Forest, Jams from Johanna or a signed copy of Annabel's book "If My Dad were a Dog" (Book of the Month - Waterstones UK - June 2007) Lunches to take on the Great Ocean Walk are freshly prepared each morning. Lettuce is picked each morning for lunches. Muffins are biscuits are all home-cooked. A perfect base for the 91kms. We are minutes away from Aire River and Castle Cove. Transport and pickups to the Great Ocean Walk can also be arranged to ensure a great holiday. Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House is 15 minutes from Cape Otway Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on mainland Australia. Walk the Great Ocean Walk and enjoy the evenings either having dinner on the verandah or by candlelight in front of the log fire. 25 minutes from the Otway Fly Treetop Walk. 10 minutes from Maits Rest Rainforest Walk. 20 minutes from Melba Gully Rainforest Walk (glow-worms at night) 10 minutes from Castle Cove and the Great Ocean Walk. 15 minutes from Johanna Beach for world class surfing and great fishing5 minutes from Aire River for fishing or kayaking. 70km East of the Twelve Apostles, 70kms West of Lorne Near the 12 Apostles, take the steps down onto the beach at Gibson’s Steps and walk along to one of the Apostles. See the historic LochArd Gorge and the Blowhole. Take a flight over the 12 Apostles and along the Otway Coast. Let us organise a great massage in the privacy of your room. Horse rides are available at Cape Otway or along the beach at Skenes Creek. Rock pools and a fabulous unpopulated beach at Blanket Bay at Cape Otway.
