Our GPS location coordinates are S38 27.064 E145 13.184. On arrival in Cowes (on Phillip Island), at the 3rd roundabout, turn left (west) into Church Street and proceed approximately 1500 meters. Glen Isla House is at 230-232 Church Street on the North (right) side. Look for the long high white fence, mature heritage trees and the sign "Glen Isla House" is on the gate. Drive in the grand tree-lined drive-way and check-in at the dining-room and guest lounge (white classic building on the right side) NOTE: Glen Isla House is part of the the original heritage classified "Glen Isla" (c1870) and is set in the extensive and very private heritage gardens of the historic Glen Isla Homestead. Glen Isla House is not associated with The Glen Isla Motel/Apartments nearby, which has separate ownership, management, facilities, and quite different architecture. Looking for a stop along the way - perhaps a coffee? We recommend you visit Churchill Island cafe - you'll see the turnoff to the right around 1 km after you come onto Phillip Island (over the main bridge). Churchill Island is drive-on over the bridge and its part of the Phillip Island Nature Park. The cafe overlooks the heritage working farm and has expansive sea views. Light lunches or a coffee. Tell them we sent you! |
