Leatherwood Lodge is a luxury Brisbane guesthouse uniquely situated on acreage just a 20 minute drive from the city center. Situated in the rural Brookfield valley, the award winning architect designed Lodge is sited on a high ridge with beautiful views of the valley and city. The native gardens are extensive and a joy to the bird watcher, being a sanctuary for parrots, cockatoos and finches. Resident scrub turkeys keep company with kangaroos. Rated at 4.5 stars by AAA Tourism, the Lodge has 4 luxury guest suites, individually furnished in the Biedermeier style with French and English fabrics all with their own facilities. Original works by top Australian artists are a special feature of the Lodge, with each suite named after an artist exhibited in the guestroom. Split system reverse cycle air conditioning optimise the level of guest comfort. Each suite has a 32 inch Samsung flat screen television. Each of the suites open onto a wide and protected verandah with panoramic views of the city and the Brookfield valley. The use of outdoor verandah rooms is a feature of this Bud Brannigan designed country lodge. They provide a choice of places for guests to enjoy. The Lodge flows into beautifully landscaped native gardens which include a 13 metre salt water swimming pool. Nearby Kenmore has an array of good restaurants and coffee shops. The award winning restaurant, " Two Small Rooms" is just a short drive away. The room rate includes a gourmet breakfast generally served either at the Georgian dining room table overlooking the gardens or on the dramatic outdoor verandah room. |

Head down Coronation drive from the city through Toowong and continue on Moggill Road through Taringa, Indooroopilly, Chapel Hill and Kenmore continuing beyond Kenmore still on Moggill Road for about a kilometer until turning right at Rafting Ground Road. Turn left at Melaleuca Place being the first road on the left and then veer right into Leatherwood Place. The Lodge is at no 49 right at the cul de sac at the top. |
