Just a stroll from the Queen Charlotte Track Okiwa Bay Lodge, Anakiwa has the most beautiful natural views to be found in the Marlborough Sounds and possibly the world.

Okiwa Bay Lodge is luxury guest accommodation which has a glorious country setting in 4.8 hectares of gardens and native bush.

An ideal retreat for a honeymoon, fishing or painting holiday, we are located right at the end of the Queen Charlotte Track.

Okiwa Bay Lodge is also an ideal base for exploring the Marlborough vineyards and numerous attractions of the region.

All bedrooms are generous in size with Queen sized beds. All bedrooms offer tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, towels and dressing gowns.

-Room 4 owner accommodation

There is a large, natural cedar wood hot tub provided for your relaxation outside overlooking Okiwa Bay and the Sounds.

The hot tub provides the opportunity to pamper yourself whilst watching over the panoramic views and offers weary walkers a great place to relax and revive.

The living area gives the illusion of letting outside in.

There is a large sitting room with panoramic views overlooking the Queen Charlotte Sounds.
There is a large wood burner stove for your warmth and comfort.

The media room is equipped with 60 inch plasma screen TV & DVD. It has plenty of books to read and visitor leaflets and activity information. All this is for your use during your stay.

There is outdoor furniture on the decking. Outdoor entertainment areas are sheltered and welcoming giving opportunities for large gatherings or intimate dining.

In the morning you have a choice of full cooked or continental breakfast. Weather permitting, breakfast is served on the decking overlooking the breath- taking views of the Queen Charlotte Sounds, boats and agricultural land at Linkwater, otherwise in the dining area.

We offer evening meals serving good, wholesome New Zealand fare such as fresh fish, wild boar, venison and BBQs.

From the first rays of morning sun to the breathtaking vibrant sunset, you can witness a paradise of stunning natural beauty.

Unwind to the therapeutic harmony of the ever present native bird life and bush surrounds.

The central lounge, with its breath taking views over Okiwa Bay and the Queen Charlotte Sounds is the ideal place for socialising with your fellow guests. We have stocked it with books, magazines, games and puzzles for your rest and relaxation.

The cosy log fire provides warmth for those cooler evenings.


We are happy to store guests' luggage whilst walking the Queen Charlotte Track or visiting the Marlborough Sounds and we can offer secure motorcycle parking.

The best thing to do at Okiwa Bay Lodge is nothing!! Or at least nothing you don't want to do.
You are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet of our extensive property. You will find plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. There are secluded sun trap corners for sunbathing. Our alfresco hot tub is just outside.

If you are walking the Queen Charlotte Track we will collect you from your final destination at Anakiwa.

A relaxation and de-stress session can be arranged with your host, Martin who uses his natural healing gift together with energetics to re-balance your body and mind.

Painters, writers and meditators will find the allure of the Queen Charlotte Sounds an easy way to spend several hours. Just idly enjoying the view from the extensive decking is a good idea.
