Heimat Chalets are private, serene, with glorious views, set on 100 acres of pristine farmland. Only 30 minutes from Hobart, 50 minutes from Hobart airport, yet only 30 minutes to the World Heritage areas of Tasmania, a great place to use as a base, travel and exlore all day then return to a wonderfully peaceful and most comfortable Chalet. Our Chalet 2 has 2 bedrooms with a king and queen bed, ideal and reasonably priced for two couples travelling together, this Chalet offer the ultimate in privacy and views. Chalet 1 is a family chalet, where your children are catered for like VIP guests, play ground toys, for both inside and outside fun! The service at Heimat is excellent, 24 hour reception, your hosts are ready to assist you with even the smallest requirement. TVs and DVD are in each chalet. Fax, Internet, Phone can be available upon request. Heimat has self contained accommodation,plus sites for caravans and motorhomes. As winners of Tourism Tasmania's "Peoples Choice Award" Heimat definitely gives you a wonderful and complete holiday experience - most of our guests wish they were staying longer! |

Business FacilitiesOur property is not designed for business, however we are happy to assist you to book functions etc close by. Smaller groups and family functions are most popular and welcome.Heimat Chalets are winners of the 2004 Tourism award for "Peoples Choice" Service is our business - do not be afraid to ask! |

| Getting There |
To travel to Heimat Chalets, you need your own car or hire vehicle, Heimat is 50 minutes from Hobart airport and 40 minutes from Hobart city, head North on the A10 to New Norfolk, then take the C184, which leads you to Blackhills Road. The property is well sign posted if you are on the right track! - please do not be afraid to call us if you have lost your way. We especially ask you to advise us if you are later than 18.00 hours. NOTE GPS users, key in 400 Back River Road, New Norfolk, the signs to our property are then straight ahead of you! |
| Parking |
Car parking is next to your Chalet, and secure on our property. Should you be arriving with a motorbike we can arrange undercover parking for your bike. All parking is FREE. |
| Things To Do |
Heimat is situated 7 km from New Norfolk for shopping, bowls, or visit the local golf club,take an historic tour. Drive 15 minutes to the Salmon Ponds, Tasmania's oldest fish hatchery, 30 minutes to Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls. 40 mins. to Hobart, Mt Wellington, Salamanca Market, 5 minutes to take a ride on the Devil Jet on the Derwent River. 5 minutes to the historic Toll House for wonderful souvenirs and locally made produce and wines. Many guests just stay at Heimat, relax, use the playground, go trout fishing in the stocked ponds, take a bush walk, or test their skills on the golf driving range. Heimat is well situated to make this property your base in Southern Tasmania - save yourself the pack up each day and enjoy our wonderful scenery and hospitality. |
