**Commencing Monday 13 July 2009, a refurbishment program will begin at Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns. This program is being undertaken to rejuvenate the exterior paintwork of the hotels. At this time, the expected date of completion will be 30 December 2009. During this time, the hotel will be fully operational and it is anticipated the refurbishment program will cause minimal disruption and noise disturbance to guests during their stay. - Work will be carried out on Monday to Friday - All exterior walls and fixtures of the hotel will be affected - Machinery used will be exterior swing stages from the room of the building to action painting of surfaces. Swing stages will only affect 10% of the building at any one time - While the swing stages are in operation, no activity will be permitted underneath the work area and this area will also be barricaded from access by the guests** At Rydges Esplanade Resort we have both hotel and apartment style rooms located in two towers located on the Esplanade, Cairns. There are three superb resort swimming pools, one children¡¦s wading pool, two tennis courts, a complete Health & Fitness centre offering Aerobic classes, spa, sauna and masseuse services, all set within the lush tropical surrounds. The newly refurbished (Jan 09) Coral Hedge Brasserie & Lobby Bar offers a tempting array of sumptuous cuisine specialising in casual dining featuring delicious buffet style breakfast and an all day dining snack menu for lunch. Dining in the evening is a completely new experience with the ¡§Fire & Ice Dinner Menu¡¨ combining a la carte dining with traditional buffet. Catering for groups from 10 - 300, you can create formal settings in the Joseph Banks Ballroom, Crystal Twig and executive boardrooms to informal conferences, workshops and meetings in the Golden Palm Room.
