| Getting There |
From airport about $70 by taxi or $35 shuttle to door. From city centre about $15 by taxi, $1.50 by bus. 10 mins from motorways on ramps. From Northern Motorway: •When approaching Auckland Harbour bridge get into left lane marked Shelly Beach Rd/Ponsonby - turn off. •Come off at first off ramp. •Drive up Shelly Beach Rd to traffic lights at the top of the hill. •Turn left into Jervois Rd and get into right hand lane. •At second set of lights turn right into Ponsonby Rd. •Ponsonby Terrace is the third on the right and we are right down the bottom of the street on the left. From Southern Motorway: •Leave the Southern Motorway at Nelson St. The only off ramp in the right hand lane. •After crossing over the motorway you will come to a large pohutakawa tree with an iron fence around it. Take a left free turn. •At next lights go left into Wellington Street. Go down the hill and up the other side. •At top turn left into Franklin Rd which is tree lined. •At top of hill turn right at lights into Ponsonby Road. •Ponsonby Terrace is the second street past Liquor King (a red building). Driving from Airport: Mt Eden Route •Leave airport down George Bolt Drive which becomes Hugh Watt Drive, stay in the right hand lane. •Keep following signs to Auckland. Do not take Queenstown Rd off ramp. •Turn right at lights into Hillsborough Rd, go to end. •Turn left at lights into Mt Albert Rd then turn right at first lights into Mt Eden Rd. Go to the end (this is a long twisty road). •Turn right at lights into Symonds St, then immediately left into Newton Rd. •This crosses Karangahape Rd and becomes Ponsonby Rd. •We are at the far end on the left, two streets past Liquor King. •On the corner of Ponsonby Terrace is a brick church with large trees. •We are down the bottom on Ponsonby Terrace on the left. Taxi from Airport can cost NZ$60 at peak time. A super shuttle is a door to door service but can take up to an hour. |
