Huon Franklin Cottage Bed & Breakfast was built in 1926, federation style, which has been restored to its former beauty & is fitted with all the modern conveniences without losing the old-world charm. Your Rooms: The Parlour has a theme of Teddy Bears Kath's Room with a theatrical theme & romantic themes, Honeymoon couples is our specialty. Large guest lounge room, with wood heater, TV DVD player, formal dining room, even a piano/penola. Our Bed & Breakfast is licenced & serve evening meals, great menu,just park the car & settle in for the night. Tassie wines, beer, champaine available. A lovely hot spa is waiting for you also, imagine sitting back in the spa after a walk around the Huon Valley! On arrival enjoy our complementry afternoon tea Regency, Duchess and Victoria Royale Bone China. A hearty continental breakfast is provided in the breakfast room or on the balcony overlooking the Huon River, or maybe a cooked breakfast would suit. The morning paper is also provided. Romance your sweetheart in our dinning room, affordable menu available. We are licenced & have a variety of Tasmanain wines and spirits to choose from. Your room is fitted out with, TV'S, VCR'S, in house video library, electric blankets, hairdryers, individual air conditioning, set at your desired temperature. Bedroom 1: 1 Queen bed & bunk + a cot. Bedroom 2: 1 Queen bed only. Set in the heart of the Franklin close to all the restaurants, across the road in fact. We have set this Cottage up for a family or 2 couples travelling together around the Huon Valley & it sleeps up to 6 people. You have a whole cottage to yourself, A lounge room, dining room,kitchen, seperate toilet & bathroom you even have a laundry, off street parking, just park the car & enjoy this lovely town. You don't have to bring a thing, it's all here for you, all linen supplied. Franklin is the only town in the Huon Valley which is on the water, see the ducks & swans float by; great for the children. Your cottage is set up with air conditioning in the bedrooms & lounge room, electric blankets clock radio in your room as well, nice and cosy. Huon Franklin Cottage is situated in the Huon Valley, take the A6 from Hobart useing Davey Street & follow the signs to Huonville approx 35 minutes south of Hobart) travel through Huonville and onto Franklin (8 klm), drive through Franklin & Huon Franklin Cottage is situated on the right opersite the 2 apple sheds,the cottage has a large B&B on the roof. Huon Franklin Cottage is 1 km south of the Franklin Post Office on the right. Cottage on Main situated 200 meters south of The Franklin Post Office on the right, opersite The Aqua Grill Restaurant. The lovely town of Franklin was the first town settled in the Huon Valley and still retains some original architectural buildings. Your stay in our cottage is close to the southern attractions, Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves, thermal spring, Luna River Gem Stones, glow worm caves, take a boat ride down the Huon River on the Southern Contessa, or a jet boat ride or visit the Apple Museum and many more. The Huon Valley as you enter Grove, on the right you can experience the Apple Museum - very interesting stop. Franklin offers craft shops, antique shops, ship building, restaurants & Pubs. Close by you will find The Tahune Airwalk has a new attraction The Eagle Glide, grab a panoramic view from above the treetops, also visit the big tree and the fern lookout along the way. Geeveston is a great little town, with lots of life like carving by Burnie Tarr, Bakery, Newsagency, Chemist & restaurants, visit The Southern Design Centre- experience the history of Geeveston. Travel on down south to Dover, great food at the Pub at Dover, The Thermal Springs and Hastings Caves, Lune River Gems with an interesting array of gemstones, great fishing for the angler or just travel onto the train at Ida Bay Railway, have a picnic, Cockle Creek is not far from here, the furthest south that you can drive, visit the BOTTOM of Tassie Or Australia see the Whale statue. |
