Located in the World Famous Barossa Valley, Greenock’s Old Telegraph Station is a great choice to stay for lovers of history, nature and culture. The cottage once served as one of the original telegraph stations linking Adelaide and Angaston operating from 1866, at a time when travellers stopped over in the area on the way to the Murray River.
The town was named by James Smith, the secretary of George Fifie Angas, after Greenock on the Clyde River in Scotland and is sometimes called Little Scotland in the Barossa Valley. The town is also located on the famous Heysen Trail.
The Barossa is renowned the world over for its premium wines and traditional foods. It is a place of scenic beauty with church spires reaching to the sky, gentle undulating hills, natural landscapes and historical buildings, a place that attracts people from all over the globe.

Greenock's Old Telegraph Station Holiday House is a self-contained two bedroom cottage accommodating up to five people. The superior main bedroom features a queen bed, while the second deluxe bedroom has a double bed.
The cottage also includes a large bathroom with two person spa, wood log fire, 32 inch LCD TV, DVD Player with DVD Library. Be at home with a fully equipped kitchen, oven, cook top, microwave, coffee and tea making facilities.
All linen and bedding are supplied which include luxury bathrobes. Greenock’s has full laundry facilities, a private enclosed lawn garden, undercover outdoor entertaining area and a stainless steel BBQ.
Upon arrival you will receive a bottle of local Barossa wine, port and bedside chocolates. Provisions will also be provided for self-catering which includes eggs, bacon, tomatoes, orange juice, low fat milk, fresh local bread, cereals, tea, plunger coffee and instant coffee.

Travel on Northern Expressway/National Highway and continue onto Gawler Bypass Rd/National Highway/Sturt Hwy. Take the exit towards Greenock. |
