"...city folk beware, you won't feel like going back!"
Come & stay and see why many of our guests come back again & again. If you're looking for the perfect country escape, Nightcap Cottage may just be what you're looking for: peaceful and comfy, with a very special setting that provides you with a truly magnificent view. This newly renovated cottage, located on the very edge of the sleepy village of Eureka, is named for the view towards the wooded hills of the Nightcap Ranges. It has two bedrooms (one with a king bed, the other with a queen), one bathroom (with shower), a fully equipped kitchen, spacious combined lounge/dining room, a small study and a wide covered deck which will be a spot you'll find hard to leave...it's perfect for breakfast, a barbecue or a quiet sit with a glass of wine watching wonderful sunsets.
The tiny village of Eureka sits in the heart of the glorious hinterland of Byron Bay. It enjoys a feeling of being far away from the rest of the world, yet it is only:
* a 5 minute drive to Federal or Clunes villages where you will find their well-known general stores with bottle shops...perfect for grabbing last minute food essentials and supplies.
* a 10 minute drive to the wonderful village of Bangalow with its abundance of great restaurants, cafes and shops.
* a 25 minute drive to Byron Bay with its magnificent beaches and diverse attractions.
* a 30 minute drive from Lismore airport and 45 minutes drive from Coolangatta Airport.
The wonderful natural and scenic attractions of the area, such as Minyon Falls (which you can see from the cottage), Whian Whian State Forest and Rocky Creek Dam, are all within a short drive.

| Getting there | A car is essential for stays at this cottage. Nightcap Cottage is at 8 Whian Road, Eureka. To get to Eureka, take the Lismore/Bangalow exit off the Pacific Highway. At the mini-roundabout at the top of Bangalow's main street, follow the sign for Lismore. (There's a great little shop for supplies just here on the left: Charlotte's Market). Stay on this road until you reach Springvale Hill, not long after the turnoff to Nashua and Booyong. There is an overtaking lane going up this hill - just as the two lanes merge again there is a right-hand turn lane - to turn right into Springvale Road. Take this road and follow to the end, where there's a pretty church on the corner. Turn right here and follow this road up through Eureka village. Whian Road is at the top end of the village, where another pretty church sits, and is signposted for Rosebank. Turn left into Whian Road - the cottage is just there on the right, next but one to the church and the last house in the village. It is pale green with white trim and has a large deck. !!PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN DRIVING IN AND OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY as visibility is very poor. Swing over to the left before turning right into the drive, in order to check for oncoming traffic. When leaving the cottage, you'll need to check for traffic before going down the drive. We will call you regarding location of the key. |
| Parking | There is room for one car at the top of the drive, an additional car will need to park on the road. |
| Things to do | You may wish to wind down, enjoy the peace and do nothing at all! However, there is lots of exploring to be done in this beautiful region. It's a pleasure simply following the winding country lanes through lush sub-tropical countryside. Bangalow, with its wonderful cafes, shops & restaurants is less than 15 minutes away and Byron Bay is just a further 10 minute picturesque drive from there. Other places of interest include Minyon Falls (which you can see from the deck), Rocky Creek Dam (a favourite picnic spot for locals) and Nightcap National Park. Then there are the weekly markets...the main market does the rounds and is in a different location each Sunday. Fabulous farmers' markets happen in Bangalow, Mullumbimby and Byron Bay. |
