The Boathouse is located on Macleay Island, a sub-tropical island located in the Moreton Bay Marine Park and easily accessed from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. The property is set on the beachfront amidst landscaped gardens and offers stunning water views along with spectacular sunsets.
This four bedroom, four bathroom self contained apartment is ideal for group or family getaways. There is a peaceful guest lounge, kitchenette, BBQ, dining area and lots of private areas in the gardens for relaxing. There are three bedrooms with queen-size beds each with a well appointed ensuite. The fourth bedroom is adaptable with either two single beds or a king size bed. This room is access friendly with a huge ensuite.
All bedrooms have private entrances leading to the verandahs and gardens.
Guests receive the complimentary use of sea kayaks, bicycles, fishing equipment, dinghy, golf clubs and a DVD/video library. Breakfast options can be provided for an additional cost and are a three course gourmet delight (special needs can be catered for).
Our tour desk can arrange as many activities as you choose, from eco-tours on nearby islands, beach picnics on secluded beaches, fishing trips, snorkeling, island hopping, plane rides or for you to do absolutely nothing but relax.
Airport pickups and drop offs can be organised, weddings arranged and catered for, whatever you desire we can make happen.

| Getting there | To reach Macleay Island you catch a water taxi or vehicle barge from the seaside suburb of Redland Bay. The water taxi departure point is at the southern end of Banana St. It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach Macleay Island. Bay Islands Transit System can be contacted on 07 3206 8033 for timetable information and fares. If you would like to bring a car, the vehicle barge departure point is approximately an hour drive from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Located on Weinham Street, Redland Bay it takes approximately 40 minutes to reach the island. Bay Islander Service can be contacted on 07 3488 5300 for timetable information and fares. | Parking | The Boathouse has off-street car parking available free of charge. There is also boat and trailer parking if necessary. If you wish to arrive on a private vessel, please be aware that Macleay Island is tidal and plan your trip around the tides. |
| Things to do | Macleay Island is sheltered in the vast marine park of Moreton Bay. It is rich in native flora and fauna, edged with mangrove foreshores and sandy beaches, providing respite from the outside world. An eco-tourism dream and bird watcher’s nirvana, the island offers a variety of experiences. The calm waters are great for swimming, fishing, sea kayaking and snorkeling. Visitors can enjoy gourmet breakfasts, champagne sunsets, al fresco dining, arts & crafts or curl up with a book and just relax. Mingle with the locals playing golf, lawn bowls or tennis, explore the bicycle and heritage trials. Watch the dolphins, turtles, dugongs or go for beach walks.
