Chris.Hall's Colonial Accommodation Ross a convict built heritage listed sandstone cottage

Christopher Hall's Colonial Accommodation at Ross in Tasmania is a convict built, heritage listed, sandstone cottage situated at 21 Church St. Ross.
Conveniently located on the main street of Ross and is lined on both sides by majestic elm trees which are magnificent in the spring and summer.

Christopher Hall's Colonial Accommodation is a fully self-contained unit. It is ideally situated as it is midway between the two famous bakeries of Ross - so take your pick, the noted Man O Ross Hotel is also just a short walk away.

Visitors enter through the side entrance into a small hallway. On the left is the kitchenette, dining and living room. There is a working fireplace and just imagine sitting in front of the fire taking in the ambience of a bygone era. It feels like one has stepped back in time.

On the right is another sitting room or dressing room which adjoins the ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet and wash-basin) this flows into the queen bedroom.

The unit has been completely renovated and sympathetically furnished to reflect another era but has everything needed for an overnight stay or longer. We welcome weekly visitors.

Ross is situated approximately midway between Launceston and Hobart and is a short detour off the Midland/Heritage Highway. Being off the Highway is a bonus as the village is very peaceful and quiet. The east coast is a pleasant drive for a day's picnic and an early start would enable the visitor to take in the famous Coles Bay, Wineglass Bay area.

The mountain lakes are also accessible with a day's drive.

Things to do The full time population of the Ross Village is
approximately 300 but swells during the tourist season. Ross retains an old worlde atmosphere due to the number of old sandstone cottages still standing and being lovingly looked after. The elm tree lined streets also give the village the feel of a bygone era.
