| Getting there | Portland is situated on the coast at the tail end of the Great Ocean Road (west of Warrnambool and Port Fairy). Portland is approximately four hours west of Melbourne, three hours west of Geelong and one hour west of Warrnambool. It is a central location for people wishing to visit Mt Gambier in South Australia, Hamilton, Grampians, Warrnambool and Port Fairy with many great locations to visit and explore in the region. If driving to Portland the best way to find Louisianna’s is to follow these simple directions. Once you get to Portland continue driving into town on the main highway. Stay on this road right to the very end and turn left at the T intersection. Not too far along this street (Glenelg St.) Louisianna's is on the left and has no front fence and is in cream colour with 14 on the letterbox. Louisianna’s is a short taxi ride from the airport (approximately 10 minutes) and three blocks from the V/Line bus terminal. |
| Parking | There is an exceptional amount of parking available at Louisianna’s. The driveway is nine metres long (from path to carport) and three metres wide. At the end of the driveway is a single lockable carport. There is also ample on street parking as there is a road verge for parallel parking and a small carpark over the road. |
| Things to do | Louisianna's is in the best location in town - within one block of main shopping precinct, beaches, pubs, supermarkets, sporting ovals, tennis courts, Botanic Gardens, fishing spots, walks and site seeing tram! The convenience of being able to walk around the corner to the heritage listed Macs Hotel and the famous Bentinck St. cafe strip make it a great place to walk to and from home after a relaxing meal near the beach. Bentinck St offers great views of the harbour, beach and yachting precinct. The activities, sites and facilities which are all within a stone’s throw will impress all ages. The Powerhouse Car and Engine Museum is just two minute walk away while the Portland Cable Tram is three minutes walk. The YMCA indoor heated pool and many recreational BBQ facilities areas are all just within five minutes (or less!) walk away (including Botanical Gardens). You really won't believe how wonderfully central you are and yet in a private and quite street with plenty of open space around you. |
