Wake up above the Wombat forest where sunrise brings the orchestral songs of the native bird life and the morning mist lingering from the treetops.
Every aspect in these self-catering accommodations is complimented by forest views and innovative architecture and design.
There are three separate accommodations on the three acre Sutton Spring property.
Texada is fully self-contained and is located in a quiet street within easy walking distance of shops and galleries and on the doorstep of the Wombat State Forest.
Texada is nestled within an orchard of plum trees and, during the spring and summer, is enveloped in foilage. Texada is very private, well screened and secluded.
Texada is exceptionally well appointed with a king size bed, heating, galley kitchen with hotplates, small convection oven, microwave, plunger coffee equipment, full crockery, glassware, cutlery and cookware. The living area has a large flat screen HD TV with DVD and an IPOD/IPhone docking station.
Watch the native birdlife swoop through the trees as you relax in the heated outdoor hot tub on your deck within a private garden. Enjoy the star show or, if there is inclement weather, raise the large cantilevered umbrella to protect you from the elements.
Saturna is a larger private self-contained accommodation for couples.
To-die-for views take centre stage on the sprawling open and covered timber deck above a large private dam teeming with birdlife, where you can rejuvenate your mind, body and soul in your own private outdoor hot tub in a spectacular elevated position with expansive sweeping views over the valley.
Adjacent to Saturna is a large lush private garden and alfresco dining and BBQ area containing sculptural works. There is a large outdoor table with seating for up to 8 people.
Relax by the glass fronted slow-combustion heater with a glass of local wine after preparing dinner using the kitchen equipped with a full range of modern appliances.
The owners have evolved Saturna to be one of the leading boutique accommodations in the area. It is exceptionally well appointed to provide a place for couples and single travellers to relax, refresh and reconnect.
Saturna is on the leading edge of ‘cosy chic’ with bespoke architecture, sculptural and artisan finishes. A handmade metal spiral stair rises through to the cathedral ceiling to the mezzanine level where the large light filled loft bedroom space has Baltic pine floor boards and comfortably contains a queen size bed.
Saturna has a full bathroom with a shower and half bath.
There is a separate TV/sprawl room with French doors opening onto another adjoining deck with garden. Saturna has a large flat screen TV, DVD player and an IPOD/IPhone docking station.
The TV room contains a high quality fold down double couch for the extra adults and children.
Salt Spring is a larger self-contained accommodation that caters for three couples but can be let for smaller groups also.
Salt Spring is a split level dwelling cascading down a hillside complemented by flourishes of sculptural metalwork and artisan finishes.
Relax with a glass of local wine after preparing dinner using the kitchen equipped with a full range of modern appliances. Alternatively utilise the large BBQ area with outside seating for up to 10 people.
Salt Spring has one large bedroom with a king size bed and two large bedrooms with queen size beds; one of which has a private entrance opening on to a private deck with a sitting area and expansive views over the wombat state forest.
Salt Spring has extensive decks and outside sitting areas with views over a private dam and sweeping views over the wombat forest.
Salt Spring has a full bathroom with a shower and full bath. There is also an outside rain shower and full bath with views over the dam and Wombat state forest.

| Things to do | Looking for acclaimed cuisine, cellar doors, award winning day spas, spectacular scenery, natural mineral springs, romantic hideaways, historic streetscapes, great entertainment, fabulous art or a game of golf? Just 90 minutes from Melbourne, the Shire boasts the highest concentration of mineral springs in the country together with an equally large array of therapists. Holistic health services, provided in conjunction with the mineral springs and spas, continue the region’s long tradition as a place of healing. The towns of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs reflect the character of their earliest heritage when Swiss-Italian miners and other immigrants settled here and people travelled from afar to “take the waters”. The natural beauty of the area and its period character have drawn a widening artistic community, providing visitors and the community with performing and visual arts by artists of national and international repute. |
