This place was an unexpected gem! The staff at check in were so friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and the facilities were clean and functional. It is very close to Central train station and there are lots of places to eat nearby. Will definitely stay there again.

Close to the train station and cheap for the night. However the bed was creaky, screeched with every movement, hard to get a good night’s sleep. There were no towels so we couldn’t have a shower. The unisex toilet windows faced out on to the rooftop so you could make eye contact with someone while in your cubicle, a little awkward. We arrived at 9pm and left at 7am between a train trip and plane flight, so wasn’t too bad, but wouldn’t want to spend any longer there. The lady who helped us check-in, I think her name was Marnie, was very lovely though.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your stay. We do our best to maintain the beds and tighten when needed. I have checked all toilets and the windows are either boarded up or there is frosted glass to prevent from anyone seeing. But I will look into this further. Cheap for a reason

Pros: Free pancakes, friendly staff, price, location
Cons: cleanliness and freshness
Location: Central station and George Street within walking distance
The hostel is in a great location, walk to central station and city centre, and is good if you need to stay short term without spending much. But It smells in the hallways and there is grime on windows showing it doesn't get cleaned much. There are some panes missing in a bathroom window (we decided to shower when we got home) But the staff are friendly and we enjoyed some freshly made free pancakes for breakfast. The bed was comfy and we slept well. Just don't go in with high expectations and you will survive the experience and not spend hundreds on a hotel room.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your overall stay with us and I will be sure to pass on your comments to our staff. I will speak with our cleaning staff in regards to the windows and have them cleaned as soon as possible. We are in the process of doing some maintenance and have noticed the panels in the windows which are on our list to get done. I'm unsure of what the smell could be, however, the floors are vacuumed everyday and shampooed every couple of months. There are several eatery's below our hostel which could be the reason there was a smell. I will be sure to look into it. Don’t have any problem only the bed it was dirty and the pillow is yellow seems like its not been wash for ages

Pros: Location
Cons: Could do with a tidy up
Ok cheap accomodation. Pretty basic and tired. Could do with a little tidyup . For the price though its what you would expect in the heart of Sydney

Good location, but...

Pros: Location, cleanness, nothing else.
Cons: More toilets. Elevator. Better internet.
Location: Central station, some restaurants
I liked the location, near to Central Station. Nice and kind staff. The room was comfy, but the floor had a lot of rooms and only 2 showers and toilet were available, fortunately it wasn't busy that night. Huge stairs to get the floor it wasn't pleasant with 2 heavy bags. Wifi was available but only 1GB which is not too much these days.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The WiFi is free and unlimted. We use 1GB vouchers that are accessible from reception and our night manager. The hostel is a older building split between two levels. Reception staff are always happy to help with bags. More facilities are available on each level of the hostel for all guests to use. There are a lot of doors on the floor and some of those rooms do have private ensuite bathrooms. Thank you from The Home Team
