Lovely accommodation in a rural elevated setting.

Pros: It’s position, beautiful views and overall quality.
Location: Sugar Loaf Lodge is just a short drive from Matakana village, restaurants and everything the area has to offer
We spent a relaxing couple of days at Sugar Loaf Lodge, the views from our room were stunning, rolling countryside with Omaha beach in the distance. Dianne and Rob were great hosts, friendly and helpful with advice about what to see and do in the local area. Our accommodation was spacious and very comfortable, breakfast in the sunroom with local bread and honey etc. was a nice addition as was the wine and cheese brought to our room later in the day.

Great view!

Sugar Loaf is a pleasant place to stay with local attractions not too far away- the staff are friendly and everything was a pleasure

I sensed we were in for something spectacular

I sensed we were in for something spectacular as soon as I turned into the driveway.And I was not disappointed.This location is world class but at an affordable price for that special night away.

Sugarloaf Lodge lives up to its name...

Pros: The hosts were fabulous.
Cons: Everything was great even when the weather wasn't perfect.
Location: So much to do. We are looking forward to returning!
A marvellous setting, clean, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, fabulous platters and wine, wonderful and warm service.

Loved staying at Sugarloaf lodge, the breakfast was delicious, the view amazing and just an all round lovely place to stay.

Pros: Views
Cons: Eating breakfast in their kitchen while they watched us. Very uncomfortable.
Location: Good views
Facilities: Ordinary, No plate or dish; Value: Excessive; Service: Awful, Pestered no privacy; Cleanliness: Lacking, Runs on outside of loo!; Outside of loo and lid dirty. Bed cover needed washing. Told we could go for dinner in town after 6 when they had been in with nibbles for us!
