The welcoming staff were lovely and very informative and helpful with where to eat and what to do. The room was spacious and on the edge of the forest which was very peaceful. We had plenty of amenities for our stay and enjoyed the spa bath!

"Will I go back??"
We stayed for three nights, just last weekend. We were in number 1. The receptionist greeted us nicely and after taking a credit card swipe, in case of damages, we headed up the stairs. I thought , well, the room cannot be that bad, if they feel the need to protect against damages. After fumbling with the lock for a while, we eventually got in to the room. It was a very dark room, although day light was still good. Although everything was very clean, it was old at the same time. The sheets were fresh and there were plenty of towels, but the mattress, was terribly soft. The bathroom was very clean, although again very out dated.. Clean is always my first priority, so older I could handle. There was a separate shower, which had good water pressure and was large enough for two, The carpets really need to go, but you could tell they had been hoovered. Still they were stained and very patched due to a lot of foot traffic. There was a beautiful window seat, but again it was spoilt by the stains and torn loose threading. . Also, there was a large tree out side the window that needs to be cut back. When the window was open, the branches came in, then when closed they scratched off the glass. Also, the latches that extend the window out, were broken, so if a wind caught the window, it flew back out of control. The main lamp had three large tears in the shade and it was just turned into face the wall.. Knights Inn was a bore and also empty. Nothing else to do at the hotel

"Great location, few disappointments, stay again."
Slightly saggy beds and mystery noises from the roof kept us awake in the early hours of the morning. Wi-fi did not work at all, and although we did not plan to remain indoors, if it's an advertised feature, I'd expect that it's functional. Also, the restaurant was under renovation, and we were not informed of this when we made the booking. Once again, an advertised feature was not available. Otherwise, it's a great location, the staff are friendly and the rooms were clean and were a warm haven in blustery, wet and cold nights.

"close to main street and river."
Nice, warm and great shared facilities tucked away out the back. Great place to relax or use, as we did, as a base to visit the sites around the South West.
