There are several fine churches scattered around the city, including the large Nikolaikirch, Saint Thomas' Church, with its links to the famous composer, Bach, and the Russian Church. Another main sight in the city is the large and impressive Old Town Hall. Built in the Renaissance style, the tower can be seen from all around. It is beautiful both inside and out, and you can visit grand rooms and learn about the cellar's gruesome history! It is one of the main tourist sites in the whole city, and for very good reason! Visit homes of late poets and composers and explore the unique and unusual passageways that run through the heart of the city. There are numerous museums around to cater to all tastes and interests.

Journey to the top of the Panorama Tower for excellent views and see the city at your feet. There is a restaurant at the top where you can enjoy fine dining with incredible views. And with numerous other restaurants and cafes across the city, you certainly won't go hungry! If you're visiting with kids, why not take a trip to the zoo? It is home to a wide selection of different animals and makes for a really pleasant day out. Other places of interest in the city include Bayerischer Station, Germany's oldest railway station, Leipzig Botanical Garden, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, the large Volkerschlachtdenkmal Monument, and the imposing Reichsgericht. Head to one of the lakes for some quiet time, where you can relax on the lakeside beaches, stroll around the edges, and enjoy a variety of water sports. Leipzig hosts several festivals throughout the year, and you'll have a choice of fantastic concerts at any time.
