Location opposite Kyoto Station was perfect. Small room but workable as we were out every day.Quiet clean room, good shower. Reception desk staff friendly, helpful, spoke English. We would stay here again. Some problems at breakfast.Stayed 7 nights. Convenient to have breakfast included but some foods (scrambled egg, potato bake not nice). One young female staff member at breakfast rarely smiled and acted like jail warder. Others were hospitable. No problem with crowding.

Room like a shoebox.. Far too small for a european. Breakfast was barely adequate and we did not like way room was set up with squashed seating. Also, we experienced long queue to enter breakfast room and there was no coffee lounge or restaurant for a meal at night. Furthermore we would liked to have an area for a quiet drink and talk. We would not recommend this hotel.

Ibis Kyoto has the worst customer service in all Japan!!! The staff is incredibly rude.
