Superb resort surpassing our expectations
Pros:The views, the architecture, the private infinity pool, the superb breakfasts and the staff who took great service to the next level.
Cons:The timber which is generously used throughout the resort was showing major signs of deterioration in the harsh tropical climate.
Location:You are far enough away from Patong to ignore it but close enough to visit it if you wish. Baan Rim Pa, a famous local restaurant was exceptional.
The resort is generously laid out and prioritises privacy for each and every villa. The villas themselves were the wow factor for me, superb modernist architecture you don't expect to see in Asia necessarily but it is done so well. Each villa is a steel and glass box encircled with double curtaining in recessed tracks (its all about the details) and loads of polished basalt and light timber to add warmth to the brooding colour palate. The villas were large and well appointed. The family favourite was the private infinity pool adjacent to each villa. It was lined in dark plum coloured Morano glass tiles - again, details. Even the minibar is topped up daily at no charge. Then there's the views from every vantage point.
The other facilities and meals from the different restaurants were all of a high standard. Breakfasts were spectacular and generous - among the best we've had anywhere. The staff were superb too, always smiling and helpful quickly learning and anticipating your coffee preferences, drink choices etc. Amazing place for the ambulant, exhausted or lovers of great design.
Step outside to feel the sun on your face and the sand in your toes on the white sand beach. Spend the day at the beach and work on your tan with sun loungers (chaise longues) or relax in the shade with umbrellas. Pamper yourself with a treatment at the full-service spa and enjoy amenities at The Naka Phuket like an outdoor pool and a fitness center. There's a restaurant on site, as well as a snack bar/deli. You can enjoy a drink at one of the bars, which include a beach bar and a poolside bar. WiFi is free in public spaces. This Art Deco hotel also offers a steam room, a garden, and a terrace.
