Accommodation In Durban

First off, we’ll give you a tip:"Howzit going bru?". Just remember that greeting when you’re in Durban, and you’ll be just fine.

Durban (otherwise known as eThekweni) is a coastal town in South Africa with a fascinating mix of cultures. Using our range of Durban hotels as a base, you can explore all that this beautiful region has to offer. Well known for its beaches like Umhlanga Rocks or Bronze Beach to the North, or Dairy Beach if you’re looking for a good spot on the Town beaches.

Durban is as laid back as it is colourful, with a long history of multiculturalism. There’s a fascinating selection of local dishes to try out; apart from a good boerewors roll, Durbs is also well known as the birthplace of bunny chows. Bunny chow – which started as a dish shared among Durban’s Indian population is a hollowed out loaf of bread filled with curry.

Apart from the beaches and food, Durban offers world class shopping spots for those of you looking for some retail therapy. The city itself is full of little stores in nooks and crannies and if you’re after the "large shopping mall" experience, than Gateway, in the Umhlanga area is just what you’re after… in fact, it is one of the largest entertainment and shopping complexes in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s also home to the "Wave House" and the D-Rex - the "first of its kind" double-point break standing wave. Not to mention a 4000m² Skatepark designed by 10-time World Skating Champion, Tony Hawk.

Of course, if you’re after a more traditional visit, Durban has much to offer there. Located in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban is rich in Zulu heritage… and there are many day trips within easy reach of our Durban hotels. Spend time at a traditional Zulu "kraal", where you can meet the chief and possibly the local sangoma (witch doctor). Be sure to visit the Valley of 1000 Hills, which is one of the most scenic areas of Durban or Join in a drum circle, and sample some Zulu beer while watching a traditional Zulu war dance as the sun sets on the horizon… Durban really does offer it all!

Oh, and one more thing: when you book your hotel in Durban through Wotif.com, your booking is instantly confirmed and complemented by a 24/7 Customer Service Team, who are happy to assist with any questions you may have. Lekker!

Note: All rates include tax. No added tax when checking out.
