Great location
Location is handy and close to underground train. Room is a bit ordinary and hot water not working properly with low pressure. They should replace keyring to keycard systems.

Close enough to the city but far enough removed
Pros:The location and the breakfast.
Cons:The corridors could use a good airing out and some cross ventilation would help remove that musty, damp smell.
Location:Lumpini Park was a short-ish stroll from the hotel. It was a nice, relaxing reprieve from the chaotic nature of Bangkok.
This hotel was our first introduction to Bangkok, and it seemed to be a fairly accurate reflection of the city itself – a mix of old and new, with some great aspects, some not so great, and some smells that make you wonder, "what's that?!"
LOCATION
It was good enough distance away from the city to feel a bit quieter at night, but not so far that you feel removed. The MRT underground station was a close walk which was very handy when hoping in and out of the centre of town.
THE HOTEL
There were some really pleasing aspects of the hotel, mainly the staff and the included breakfast. Overall it felt like it was once very modern and new, but is now feeling a little dated and in need of a makeover.
THE ROOM
We stayed in room 1309 which had a good view towards the city. The bed was nice and big, if a little hard for my tastes. There was a slight damp smell in the air which went away when we turned on the air conditioning. Being Bangkok, the air conditioning was a must have item to escape the humidity and heat.
THE BREAKFAST
The buffet breakfast was well stocked and catered to western tastes as well as more asian tastes, too. It was one of our favourite things about staying here.
THE DODGY GUY OUT THE FRONT
My one annoyance was the taxi driver guy hanging out the front of the hotel. He seemed to be loitering around just waiting to pounce on you to use his services. He was quoting double the metered taxi fares so I'd stay well clear of him.

A nice stay overall, but don't expect it to be modern!
